The Mountain Community dell'Appennino Modena West is an institution in the province of Modena. Emilia-Romagna has divided their territories mountain in 18 mountain communities of which three have in the province of Modena. Emilia Romagna keen to support and promote the development of these small communities. The municipalities that are part: Frassinoro, Montefiorino, Palagano, Prignano on Secchia. The community includes a wide area of the Apennine range in the province of Modena. The seat itself is Montefiorino in Rocca 1.
